Gain access to sealed Court records to give yourself the best fighting chance possible to locate those missing biological relatives you've always wanted to find.

PHILOSOPHY: This Office believes exceptionally strongly that individuals should know their biological history, and that mutually loving biological ties should be established and maintained whenever possible. Toward that goal, your case will receive meticulous legal consideration emphasizing attention to details. Few areas of the Law can have a more profound impact on a person. Therefore, we will handle your case with due sensitivity to its diverse components.

OBJECTIVES: There are several distinct objectives to Biological Relative Search cases. They can be reduced to the following primary components:

bulletInvestigating and compiling as much background information as possible;
bulletdrafting and filing an appropriate Petition to unseal your Court records;
bulletobtaining Court approval to conduct a search;
bulletutilizing the confidential Court information to locate your biological relatives;
bulletsecuring their written consent to direct contact from you; and
bulletobtaining Court approval to release their personal information directly to you.

► However, understand that if your biological parent(s) gave false information at the time of your birth, there may not be anyone identifiable to locate.

► Also, you must understand that, pursuant to the PETITIONER's ACKNOWLEDGMENT, which you must execute, if your biological relative(s) are located but, for whatever personal reason they may have, they refuse to allow any direct contact with you, the Intermediary is required to advise the Court of their refusal, and attaining our ultimate objective will not be possible. Such a result would likely conclude your legal action.

► Conversely, your biological relative(s) would be free to contact either this Office or the National Adoption Registry at some time in the future if they should decide to initiate direct contact with you. Therefore, it is also important that you register with the NAR, if you have not done so already.
